|The problem=In previous versions of Windows it was fairly straightforward to get into diagnostic mode with F8, but Microsoft have decided to change this.

You can’t get into Safe Mode as you used to be able to, but you can still get into an area where you can re-install Windows or perform diagnostic checks.<div></div>

|Guidance=To get into this magical area, simply, when powering on your machine, hold down the shift key. Job done, this will now boot into the diagnostic and restoration area of Windows.

If you still can’t get it to work, I quite like my Mac and Ubuntu.
