I am a firm believer in Open Source scripts. I rarely develop anything from scratch. With the development side of life I use Google a lot to remind myself how to do things. I have noticed on a number of sites, instead of helping, people seem to be judgemental and asking why they want to do what they have asked for. I find this very unhelpful. So I thought why not set up an non-judgemental site. If you have any questions, please post on the forum. I will try and help, but please be aware I do have a full time job with a long commute so I will have limited time personally to assist.

As for the name Cheeky Factor – this all started when I worked as a board operator for a national broadcaster in the UK covering various sports. One of the reporters (who shall remain nameless) used to ask if I wanted a cheeky update so I started giving him Cheeky Factors. A Cheeky Factor of 1 would not be a very cheeky update, and Cheeky Factor of 10 would be a very cheeky update. Hence after joking about it one Saturday afternoon cheekyfactor.com was born.

Hmm, I don’t think there is anything else to add to this at the moment and if there is I will come back.

I hope you find the site useful!

Hey, welcome to Cheeky Factor!

A strange name but I will come to that in a moment. First a quick introduction about me.

My name is Gary, I am a web developer mainly specialising in MediaWiki and Wordpress.

I am a firm believer in Open Source scripts. I rarely develop anything from scratch. I wrote my first ever programme for my sister at the age of 7 back in the 1980’s It was a Word Processor for the Commodore 64. She wanted to type an assignment for school, so I got the job of coding the programme and recording it onto tape. I have also worked extensively in the media industry as a board operator and producer.

Hence, a website about my two main interests. Media was what I always wanted to do, and programming was an interest which developed into a job that simply pays better than the Media Industry, but primarily web so I can remind myself how I do things
